Kite has successfully raised $18 million in Series A funding to enable users to agentic commerce, settling payments in stablecoins.

The company has secured capital from PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst.

This investment aims to enhance Kite’s platform, which facilitates autonomous agents in conducting transactions using stablecoins.

The company’s flagship product, Kite AIR (Agent Identity Resolution), enables these agents to authenticate, pay, and interact seamlessly, targeting applications such as micro-subscriptions and agent-to-agent billing.

The infrastructure developed by Kite is designed to support what it terms the “agentic web,” where AI agents can perform microtransactions and negotiate services efficiently, allowing easy and direct integrations with popular commerce platforms such as Shopify.

Payments are settled using stablecoins for speed, security and reduce third party involvement with receipts recorded onchain via their own KiteChain – described as a ‘Layer 1 for AI, powered by Proof of Artificial Intelligence’ – with already a 1M highest daily agent interaction.

Kite also provides its own agentic store, where developers can build and promote their own agents.

The store utilizes MCP (Model Context Protocol) and seeks to start with the integration of Claude by Anthropic, later offering ability to include models from OpenAi and Perplexity as user base grows.
