Augustus has raised $180M for its global banking platform in a Series B round, led by Tiger Global and with participation from QED Investors and Hummingbird.

The team mixed enjoying legacy banking talent and fintech founder backing (Slash CEO Victor Cardenas being one of them) is transforming traditional payment services with new stablecoin rails.

Shortly after receiving an initial approval from the OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) to become a national trust bank association, Augustus has officially secured further capital and is now valued at a $1B valuation.

Currently, the platform is offering API bank-related services including domestic and international fiat transfers (via Fed Master account and ACH, SEPA, SWIFT), operational accounts, settlement, and EUR and GBP virtual accounts (serviced by the Ivy Pay Oy entity in Finland).

Here the main stablecoin currently being accepted is USDC across Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon networks. There are plans to also integrate USDT in the near term, but no mention of USAT.

For institutional clients, bitcoin-backed and other digital asset loans are available on request.
