Coinbase adds tGBP stablecoin onto its platform.

Coinbase has officially announced the listing of tGBP stablecoin issued by BCP Technologies Ltd in the UK. It is now available for both UK and global users to buy, sell and convert to and from the sterling currency. The current market cap for tGBP sits at $30M or £22.3M.

Majority of the supply currently runs on the Ethereum blockchain, followed by Base, Polygon, Solana, BNB and finally the Avalanche network. The team runs a live attestation and data transparency page on their website and its progress supports the broader narrative of local currency stablecoins being developed other than the U.S. dollar.

Also, this follows on from Coinbase launching crypto asset loans in USDC and USDT stablecoins.
