Ripple has announced it will commit $25M in its own stablecoin $RLUSD to support charitable causes and nonprofits in the U.S., according to the company’s press release.

The stablecoin issuer has chosen to donate to Accion Opportunity Fund and Hire Heroes USA. This act aims to deliver support to different groups in society.

Accion is a national lender that provides funding from small business loans to food and truck financing, as well as advocacy raising awareness on behalf of small businesses contributing to the economy.

The 15M donation follows an earlier contribution to their programs and grants department, having previously launched the Ripple Digital Leap Forward Accelerator, where participants undertook a 7 week course about growing their business in a digital age and received a $10K grant at the end.

Hire Heroes USA is another key beneficiary of the Ripple’s donation. The non-profit represents military servicemen and women veterans with civilian life and further career opportunities.

The funding will be used to contribute to their current alumni community and training programs running each month, ranging from volunteers to mentorships throughout the U.S. The initiative will target a job creation for 14,000 veterans, as well as introducing a Fintech Pathways program for better understanding across financial technology.

CEO of Hire Heros USA Ross Dickman expressed his team’s gratitude to the donation:

Ripple continues to use its successes across the digital asset ecosystem to contribute back to domestic businesses and people, having also supported a variety of other causes across STEM related areas, including in partnership with Teach For America and DonorsChoose.
