Stripe has announced it will be supporting stablecoin payments for subscriptions.
The company has revealed it is continuing to release product features to support the global rise of stablecoin payments since first acquiring Bridge back in October 2024.
The new announcement focuses on providing an easy way to pay for subscriptions.
For merchants, they need to head to their Stripe dashboards and ensure that the ‘Crypto and Stablecoins’ toggle is turned on.
For consumers, they can choose the ‘Crypto’ payment method at the checkout page, where existing wallet providers are already recognised – among industry favourites are Metamask and Phantom.
This makes it easy for to pay for another tier of goods and services (30% of current businesses), as Stripe adapted the smart contracts inside to ensure that any subsequent payment requests (e.g. monthly or yearly) are automatically signed for, currently running on Base and Polygon.
