Tether has released the Wallet Development Kit (WDK) for open-source crypto custody.
The company has teased the launch of a brand new open-source product and toolkit for a while and today have finally released a comprehensive SDK allowing millions of developers and users around the world who wish to self-custody their assets securely to install the software.
While the majority of the initial adoption will be by adopters of digital assets and developers in the space, the grander vision of Tether for this toolkit is to enable the next wave of agentic AI by allowing agents to spin up wallets and support the rise of agentic commerce anticipated by many.
