Samsung is deepening its presence in Web3 with the announcement of stablecoin support in Samsung Wallet.

Now, with its own blockchain-based wallet, a new Samsung Card, and stablecoin support, Samsung users have a Web2-to-Web3 bridge in their pockets.

Stablecoins on Samsung

During the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 keynote in London on July 22, 2026, Samsung unveiled a swathe of new hardware, tech, services, and solutions for its ecosystem.

Notably, it has officially announced the rollout of native stablecoin support within the Samsung Wallet.

As per the keynote, this would make Samsung “one of the first major mobile brands to bring native stablecoins to a smartphone”.

Samsung’s Wallet, which also allows users to store digital keys, identification, and boarding passes, is now becoming an all-encompassing suite of financial products and services.

The brief segment came after it announced new features for the Samsung Wallet, which include a new Samsung Galaxy Card, the “first real financial service” built on the wallet.

It’s not yet known if stablecoins will be spendable with its new mobile debit card. However, the firm hints at a unified experience across payments, services, rewards, and digital assets.

That said, the firm made no specific mention of stablecoin issuers, launch date, or how they intend it to function.

Backing Blockchain

Historically, Samsung hasn’t shied away from blockchain tech. Instead, it’s been an active builder since 2019, which began with the Samsung Blockchain Keystore (secure private-key storage).

It also rolled out a Blockchain Wallet that supports cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and TRON (TRX); it also supports tokens from those networks and Polygon (MATIC) Layer-2 tokens.

Ambitiously, it opted to get involved with non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and connect users’ collections with Samsung TVs for viewing. They could even browse and purchase them via the Nifty Gateway app.

Furthermore, Samsung SDS, its digital and logistical arm, offers a number of enterprise-grade blockchain solutions powered by SDS Nexledger.

Samsung is likely to deepen its Web3 ties with stablecoins over the coming months and years.

It’s a timely move as support for stablecoins is growing fast, catalyzed by favorable legislation and pending regulations for the sector, especially in the U.S.
