Mural raised its Series A round.
Mural has officially announced it secured $15M in funding from Series A round led by stablecoin issuer Tether. This was in participation with North Island Ventures and others.
In total, Mural has raised $28M to deploy payments on stablecoin rails supporting $2.1B in total volume since its launch.
The founding team has a background in Palantir and are using a similar forward-deployed engineer model to expand stablecoin solutions across markets for companies like Opera and Deel.
Recently, Deel launched its DLUSD stablecoin.
Stablecoins and AI Agents
Mural is tackling a number of emerging areas.
A forward-deployeed engineer is a term that originally came from the Palantir operational and revenue model of sending its own technical staff to work with enterprise clients.
A strong advantage there used to be that it was fairly uncommon, and also built a sticky relationship with the client’s team of engineers – especially during times of crisis.
Now it is more popular among AI startups in major tech hubs. And Mural is using it to cater for the agentic side of its products.
The team is working on ensuring that the right infrastructure exists for when more AI Agents are transacting on behalf of users and in Agentic-to-Agentic (A2A) payments.
Tether Stablecoin Investments
Tether continues to invest into early-stage stablecoin companies.
Mural’s team is headquartered in the U.S., and has a global ambition, not just the LATAM market.
It illustrates that the investment thesis is expanding supporting investments in regions of the world.
Before this, Tether invested in Ely Finance from El Salvador.
Also, it is clear that Tether is backing teams embracing the AI adoption as a key component of Mural’s solutions features new agentic accounts with MCP integrations.
